"Industrialization is central to Ethiopia's development strategy," said Industry Minister Melaku Alebel. "We have created an enabling environment for manufacturing investment and are seeing positive results."
Key successes include the establishment of industrial parks, growth in textile and garment manufacturing, and increasing foreign direct investment. The government has also invested in infrastructure, skills development, and policy reforms to support industrial development.
Challenges include infrastructure constraints, skills gaps, and global competition. The government is addressing these challenges through continued investment, policy reform, and international partnerships.
