"5G will enable a new generation of digital services," said Dr. Cosmas Zavazava, Director of the Telecommunication Development Bureau at the ITU. "It will support applications in manufacturing, healthcare, education, and many other sectors."
The technology is expected to enable new services in sectors such as manufacturing, transportation, and healthcare. Higher speeds and lower latency will support applications like autonomous vehicles, smart factories, and remote surgery.
